Sledding

Wow, that sure was a blast!

A bunch of us went to Slab Cabin Run to wreak a little havoc on ourselves. Within 10 minutes one person took on a tree; the tree won. We got her patched up and back on a sled in no time.

The hill is fairly steep and about 250 feet long. It was covered with a few inches of hard-packed snow, making it very slick.

We had a great time going down the hill racing, single, double, 4 pairs in parallel, and 4 pairs in a chain. Usually we ended up going backwards for part of the hill; it was difficult to steer on the icy slopes. A few braved the jump, but not I.

Afterwards we roamed the WSC, from the lounge to the green room, the kitchen and back. We ended up shooting a few games of pool and watching a movie.

On the way out, there was an unusual incident in the coffee house. And there was another incident on the way home. I was about to pull out onto College, and a guy on the sidewalk flagged me down. I rolled down the passenger window a bit, and he said he and his friend wanted a ride to Burrows. I declined. He protested, saying I was going that way anyhow, and tried to get into the car. The doors were locked, so I rolled up the window and pulled out onto College. As I pulled away, the guy and his friend banged on the car's windows and trunk.

Oh, what an evening!

The way to get an A

Here's how to do better in school!  I'm not sure how the time wasted in a relationship can help your grades, but how can you disagree with science?

Regular sex helps students

A German sociologist Werner Habermehl says regular sex can help university students pass exams and get better grades.

Habermehl from the University of Hamburg said he and his team had tested students before and after sex.

They found that regular sexual activity significantly increased mental capability, but they found celibate students found it harder to make the grade.

As well as decreasing the length of time needed to complete a course, students with a healthy sex life also received better marks, said Habermehl.

The research was carried out together with German research institute GEWIS.

Sex map shows chain of almost 300 high school lovers

Now I kinda feel left out. *sniff* No one loves me.

So how does this relate to your own observations of behavior in high school and/or college? Some people were presumed to be promiscuous, others bragged about being sexually active, and a few ended up pregnant. But what of a sequence of partners that forms a chronological chain?

2005-01-24 15:53:30 -0400 (Reuters Health)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The first "map" of teen sexual behavior gives new meaning to the old warning that you don't just have sex with a person, but with everyone that person ever had sex with, researchers said on Monday.

They found a chain of 288 one-to-one sexual relationships at a high school in the U.S. Midwest, meaning the teenager at the end of the chain may have had direct sexual contact with only one person, but indirect contact with 286 others.

The sociologists who conducted the study said they were surprised by the findings, which also showed that despite reputations and popularity, most teens in their study did not engage in promiscuous behavior with many others.

"From a student's perspective, a large chain like this would boggle the mind," said sociologist James Moody, who led the study. "They might know that their partner had a previous partner. But they don't think about the fact that this partner had a previous partner, who had a partner, and so on."

This means that teens need a different approach to sexual health education and especially prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, the team at Ohio State University said.

Moody and colleagues studied a single Midwestern high school, in an unidentified mid-size town. The students had taken part in an anonymous survey that included details of their sexual behavior.

They found that, just as in the U.S. teen population as an average, just over half the students had ever had sexual intercourse.

ALMOST AN INCEST TABOO

In one instance, 288 students were linked in a one-to-one chain of sexual contact that rarely looped back. In other words, one boy had sex with one girl, who had sex with another boy, who had sex with another girl and so on.

New year. Nothing new to say.

Yeah, it's a new year. But so far I have nothing exciting or interesting to say... at least in a public forum.

Ultimately it's just another day. I don't see why we need to get excited about a new year.

Maybe I'll add more later. Leave a comment. Inspire me.
